PULWAMA: To celebrate National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas), Kashmir Director of Agriculture Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal today visited Pampore and its adjacent regions. He took part in the Safran harvesting operations.
Speaking on the occasion, the director said that to celebrate this day, departmental teams visit farmers in all districts of the valley. He said this day gives us the opportunity to work together for a better and prosperous future.
Speaking of the saffron sector, Iqbal said that they are experiencing a good performance this year when it comes to saffron and the department is working on a long term plan so that this sector can reach new heights in the years to come. .
He added that the department provides comprehensive and multi-dimensional marketing models, branding, stigma separation, quality control and packaging in the saffron trade at India International Kashmir Saffron Trading Center (IIKSTC) Dusoo .
The director called on the officers and officials of the department to renew their commitment to Rashtriya Ekta Diwas for the advancement and prosperity of the farming community. He assured the farmers of all the essential support and cooperation from the department.
