The Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development (DALRRD) of Limpopo will carry out on March 2, 2022 a control visit to Thornveld Farm (Part 1 of Welgewaagd Farm 233 KB) located in Dwaalboom Agricultural Zone near Thabazimbi, Waterberg district.
The main agricultural production farm, measuring 1,284 hectares, was acquired under the Land Redistribution Scheme at a cost of R25 million and allocated to smallholder farmers as part of Black Farmer Empowerment emerging countries, for the transition to commercial agriculture, with the aim of contributing significantly to the economy, creating employment opportunities and ensuring sustainable food security.
The control visit aims to ensure the monitoring and evaluation of operations, the optimal use of State resources and the general maintenance of the infrastructure, since the beneficiaries have become owners of the property.
