After a successful launch of online registration of agricultural land, Telangana decided to start registration of land and non-agricultural properties through its new portal “Dharani”.
The experiment completely eliminated the need for intermediaries and the process was completed in 20 minutes.
This integrated Land Registry Management System portal for non-agricultural land will start from Nov. 23, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) said after a decision was made during a high-level review meeting on Sunday.
The portal was launched on October 29 when records for around 1.46 crore acres of land came online. Initially, only agricultural land was registered through the Dharani portal, but given the success, the same facility is extended to non-agricultural land.
Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar will start the process of registering non-agricultural land and property on November 23.
KCR said, “We have decided to start registration of land and non-agricultural properties after we have settled all the issues related to the Dharani portal. Therefore, we waited a few days. On November 23, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar will initiate the registration process for non-agricultural land and property,” he said in a statement.
