As an ambassador of Department of Agriculture of Karnataka government, BS Yediyurappa administration has enlisted Sandalwood star, Darshan. The actor will support the services and mechanisms of the Ministry of Agriculture.
As Ambassador of Department of Agriculture, Government of Karnataka, BS Yediyurappa the administration roped Sandalwood star Darshan.
According to a government notification made by the Ministry of Agriculture, Darshan, popular in movies as “Challenging Star”, decided to take on the role without compensation.
The interpreter will support the strategies and policies of the Ministry of Agriculture and “build trust between farmers”, says the government order.
“Darshan himself is indeed a farmer. To move things forward, he has discussed the matter with the Minister,” BC Agriculture Minister Patil said in a tweet. Patil, a retired cop, was also an actor.
This is not the first time a celebrity has been drafted into the state government. In 2014, actors Puneeth Rajkumar and Radhika Pandit became the Right to Education Ambassadors (RTE). Recently, Puneeth was also appointed as the ‘Development Ambassador’ for the backward district of Chamarajanagar.
