Ukraine: the agricultural sector grows by 16.7%

(MENAFN) The agricultural sector in Ukraine has reached its highest development rate in the first 11 months of the current year against various industries in the economy of 16.7%.

Ukrainian Food and Agrarian Policy Minister Roman Leshchenko said: “The agricultural sector continues to be the engine of the economy, the guarantor of stable export earnings and food security for the country. Ukraine and the world, the hub of tens of thousands of jobs and billions of local budgets, ”the ministry reported.

As the minister said, over 10,000 farm businesses and 55,000 farmers have secured $ 168.3 million from the country to support their businesses.

Leshchenko added: “We applied new approaches and focused on small and medium agricultural producers in sectors that required even more attention from the state: livestock, horticulture, processing of agricultural products, agricultural machinery. At present, state aid is paid at 100%.
