NMDCA News:
The Art in Public Places Program of the New Mexico Arts, a division of the NM Department of Cultural Affairs (DMCA), the New Mexico State University (NMSU) Local Selection Committee, and the Department of Mexico Agriculture are looking to purchase public artwork to be displayed on the NMSU campus.
WHAT: Call for the purchase of one to three outdoor public works of art to display. Professional artists working in the Southwest (AZ, UT, CO, OK, TX, and NM) are invited to submit purchase-ready outdoor-appropriate artwork that embodies the spirit, history , the importance and impact of agriculture in New Mexico and beyond. Works must be submitted with an “all-inclusive” price (work, identification plate, delivery and secure/permanent installation on site). A total budget of $335,000 is available to purchase between one and three works, including all associated costs.
WHERE: The artwork will be placed in the newly constructed courtyard of the New Mexico Department of Agriculture (NMDA) on the campus of New Mexico State University (NMSU) in Las Cruces.
WHY: Three outdoor locations have been identified for artwork installations. This area is a connection point and a gathering place for agricultural industry stakeholders, students and the public.
