Hyderabad: Chairman and CEO of Transco and Genco, Dr Prabhakar Rao, clarified on Friday that there would be no interruption in power supply to the state’s agricultural sector. The clarification comes following reports in a section of the media about “unscheduled power cuts” in the agricultural sector in North Telangana.

Referring to these reports regarding power outages in the agricultural sector in some areas of Northern Power Distribution Company Limited (NPDCL) boundaries covering North Telangana due to communication and coordination issues, he said that a power supply round-the-clock quality would be supplied to agriculture. mains without any interruption.

“Farmers need not panic as we will continue to provide quality electricity around the clock,” he said. Telangana was the only state to provide round-the-clock electricity to the country’s agricultural sector and meet the needs of farmers, he said.

Meanwhile, remarks made by BJP MP M Raghunandhan Rao against Prabhakar Rao on the power supply issue during the media interaction on Thursday drew heavy criticism from Telangana protagonists.

They said it was Prabhakar Rao whose hard work helped Telangana overcome power issues in the early days of state formation.

They asked the MP to mend his ways and not make any remarks against the officials as it would demoralize the authorities who spare no effort to provide quality and uninterrupted power in the state.

They said BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh was facing power problems. “Instead of solving problems in BJP-ruled states, the MLA is making unnecessary remarks against our officials,” they said.
